Raider Rally is Aug. 21

FLUSHING — Come out and get to know the community at the 2018 Raider Rally presented by Flushing Community Schools. This free event celebrates the start of a new school year with free food, games for kids, face painting and a dunk tank for principals and teachers. Kids can also receive free back to school haircuts and free school supplies. Wear your Raider gear and consider donating a non-perishable food item. The event will be held on Aug. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Raider Field behind Central Elementary. — B.G.

McKenna's Beauty Bar fundraiser

HOLLY — Snap Fitness, 124 N. Saginaw St. will host a ZUMBA Fitness vs WERQ Fitness Dance Fundraiser to raise money for the second McKenna's beauty bar to be opened at Hurley Medical Center. The collaboration of ZUMBA and WERQ instructors, Stacey and Katie, Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. will benefit this great cause and is open to the public. Never taken one of their classes? Doesn’t matter! Team Adalyn hosts CHD fundraiser

GENESEE COUNTY — Multiple Genesee County locations will host fundraising events to benefit Congenital Heart Defect research this upcoming weekend, Aug. 10-12. The Spread Your Sparkle event benefits the Adalyn Sparkle Heart Fund at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital for the advancement of critical research into treatments for CHD.
