BOYS: Carman-Ainsworth ran in its first Saginaw Valley League Jamboree of the season on Tuesday, with the boys finishing tied for eighth with Bay City Central with 269 out of a field of 11 teams. Saginaw Heritage was first with 22, Flint Powers was second with 62 and Davison was third with 88. Midland was fourth with 123, Bay City Western fifth with 134, Midland Dow was sixth with 136 and Mt. Pleasant was seventh with 149. Lapeer had 284 and Bay City John Glenn had 318.

Joe Chinkeefatt was Carman-Ainsworth’s top runner, finishing 22nd in 18:08.81. Colin Smith was 71st in 21:40.46. Keegan Maguffee was 76th in 22:20.23, Dalero McNeal was 79th in 22:30.01 and Andre Williams was 81st in 22:40.97.

On Saturday, the Cavaliers ran in the Genesee Invitational, finishing sixth out of six teams with 157. Flint Powers was first with 37, Goodrich second with 83 and Clio third with 83. Swartz Creek was fourth with 86 and Kearsley was fifth with 133.

Chinkeefatt cracked the top ten, finishing 10th in 17:30.91. Maguffee was 79th in 20:46.4, McNeal was 80th in 20:51.11 and Smith was 84th in 21:06.08. Williams was 86th in 21:16.83 and Andrew Stephens was 109th in 23:25.95.

GIRLS: The Carman-Ainsworth girls were ninth with 284 at Tuesday’s SVL Jamboree. Bay City Western took first with 49, Midland Dow was second with 51 and Saginaw Heritage and Flint Powers were tied for fourth with 73. Midland was fifth with 123, Davison sixth with 153, Mt. Pleasant seventh with 177, Lapeer eighth with 231 and Bay City Central 10th with 294.

Mikaiah Holbrook was 54th to lead the Lady Cavs, finishing in 24:12.34. Priscilla Bradford- Walker was 61st in 25:08.79, Rayven Brantley was 64th in 25:31.21 and Ayanna Massey was 71st in 27:26.77. Rachel Williams was 76th in 33:55.43 and Chante Boyd was 77th in 36:16.78.

The Lady Cavs were fifth out of five teams at the Genesee Invite with 110. Goodrich was first with 22, Swartz Creek was second with 51, Clio was third with 70 and Flint Powers was fourth with 88.

Brantley led the way for Carman-Ainsworth, finishing 16th in 23:32.27. Bradford-Walker was 18th in 23:42.61, Mikaiah Holbrook was 20th in 24:05.4 and Mikayla Holbrook was 29th in 24:51.8. Niajah Hood was 38th in 26:14.89 and Williams was 43rd in 30:57.55.

Carman-Ainsworth is at the 33rd Annual Chesaning Invitational today and is then off until Sept. 23 when the team runs in the 35th Annual Linden Classic. — K.R.
