Carman-Ainsworth lacrosse preps for playoffs
     FLINT TWP. — While the Carman-Ainsworth varsity girls’ lacrosse team may have the good fortune of hosting its first matchup in the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s season-ending championship tournament on Tuesday against Wiliamston-Haslett at 5:30 p.m., not a whole lot else has gone right for this team in 2012.

     FLINT TOWNSHIP — The Carman-Ainsworth track program is often held in the highest regard when it comes to competition within the state. The Cavaliers have produced plenty of big names and have sent several athletes onto compete at the collegiate level.

No drama here
     The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass provided not much drama on hole No 18. One Matt Kuchar went to the 18th tee box with a two-shot lead and closed the deal. The possible drama ended when Matt answered Rickie Fowler's 20-foot birdie putt on the par three 17th with a birdie putt on 16 of his own from 15-feet.

     SAGINAW— The girls’ tennis season is quickly approaching its end, and will begin postseason play this week. Carman- Ainsworth will have its hands full at regionals, as they will compete in the Div. 1 No. 8 regional today at Saginaw Heritage.
