Mill Road Bridge in Flint Township closed until further notice

FLINT TWP. — Due to safety considerations, the Mill Road Bridge over the Flint River, located between Beecher and Flushing Roads will be closed to traffic until further notice. Public Open House - Flushing Road rehabilitation and road dieting

FLINT TWP. --- The Genesee County Road Commission has announced that a public informational meeting for the Rehabilitation / Road Dieting of Flushing Road from Elms Road to Warner Road will be held from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 16 ate Flint Township Hall, 1490 S. Dye Road. The purpose of the meeting is to share information about proposed rehabilitation and narrowing of Flushing Road from a 4-lane roadway down to a 3-lane roadway. The agenda will be an informal "Open House" with proposed maps available for public review. The public is encouraged to attend.

MSP offering training for church security

FLINT TWP. — The Michigan State Police Training Academy is presenting a one-day seminar on security issues in places of worship, said Police Chief George Sippert. The course is ideal for clergy and others who are involved or may become involved in maintaining security at their facilities. Topics will include Identifying and handling suspicious or dangerous people, the Importance of a safety and security team, setting up a criminal history background check for no-profits; policies, procedures, and legal aspects and critical incident readiness. The cost is $100 and includes lunch and materials. Registration deadline is Friday, December 1, 2017 and the training will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 14. Last call for yard waste

FLINT TWP. — Aiming to avoid some of the confusion of past years, Township Supervisor Karyn Miller has issued public notice that Thursday, November 30 will be the last day this season that Emterra will pick up compost and yard waste.
